Yaadein Puraani, Nayi Kahaani: SoCal PSA Culture Show 2016 featuring Salman Ahmad of Junoon
An annual tradition, the SoCal PSA Culture Show is organized by all participating Pakistani Student Associations from colleges in the Southern California region. It serves to showcase all aspects of Pakistani culture through dance, comedy skits, and musical performances. With a joint effort from our friends at surrounding PSAs, USC’s Pakistani Student Association strives to put on an unforgettable night for all.
Yaadein Puraani, Nayi Kahaani: SoCal PSA Culture Show 2016 feat. Salman Ahmad of Junoon
The University of Southern California Pakistani Student Association is proud to present the 8th annual SoCal PSA Culture Show featuring Salman Ahmad of Junoon, in conjunction with the PSAs from UC Irvine, UC Riverside, and UCLA.
Take a trip back in time to explore the extravagant history of culture, song, and dance in Pakistan over the decades. We’re throwing it back to the 60s’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, as PSAs from each school show us their moves for some classic songs and comedy skits. With oldies from the likes of Vital Signs, Naheed Akhtar, and Noor Jehan, this year’s SoCal PSA Culture Show will have something for every generation to enjoy. Grab your ammi, abbu, bhai, bhehn, dada, dadi, khala, and the rest of the khandaan to join us for a memorable evening of old memories and new stories!
We are thrilled to announce that Salman Ahmad of the world-famous band Junoon will be performing at this year’s SoCal PSA Culture Show. An international rockstar and humanitarian, Salman strives to use music as a way to bring health education, interfaith dialogue, and relief efforts to underdeveloped areas of Pakistan. He will be performing on behalf of his nonprofit organization, the Salman and Samina Global Wellness Initiative. Profits from the SoCal PSA Culture Show will be donated to SSGWI and their journey to bring health and peace to the people of Pakistan. More info can be found at http://www.ssgwi.org/
The evening will also include a performance by USC’s very own South Asian a capella group, Asli Baat. Refreshments by Karachi Tandoori will be served during intermission.
